Understanding Credits

Learn how InfuseOS credits work, what each action costs, and how to manage your usage.

Understanding Credits

InfuseOS uses a credit-based system to track usage. This guide explains how credits work, what actions cost, and how to manage your usage effectively.

What Are Credits?

Credits are the currency of InfuseOS. Every action you take—sending a message, running a tool, generating an image—costs a certain number of credits. Your plan determines how many credits you receive each month.

Credit Costs

Different actions have different credit costs:

Web Fetch1Each URL fetched during web search

Example Usage

A typical interaction might look like:

You: "Search my Gmail for emails from John about the project and summarize them"

Credit breakdown:
- Your message: 1 credit
- Gmail search tool: 2 credits
- AI response: 0 credits (responses are free)
Total: 3 credits

A more complex workflow:

You: "Find a free time slot next week, create a meeting, and email the team about it"

Credit breakdown:
- Your message: 1 credit
- Find free time tool: 2 credits
- Create event tool: 2 credits
- Send email tool: 2 credits
Total: 7 credits

Credits by Plan

Each plan includes a monthly credit allocation:

Max3,000$49/month

Credits reset on your billing cycle date each month. Unused credits do not roll over.

Usage History

The usage history shows a detailed breakdown of your credit consumption:

  • By conversation: See how many credits each chat used
  • By action type: Filter by message, tool, image generation, etc.
  • Date range: View daily, weekly, or monthly usage

Low Credit Warnings

InfuseOS will notify you when credits are running low:

  • Low warning: Appears when you have 10 or fewer credits remaining
  • Exhausted: When credits reach 0, you'll need to wait for reset or upgrade

When credits are exhausted, you won't be able to send new messages until your credits reset or you upgrade your plan.

Tips for Managing Credits

1. Be Efficient with Prompts

Combine related requests into a single message when possible:

Less efficient (3 messages = 3+ credits):

"What's on my calendar today?"
"Send an email to John"
"Search for that PDF"

More efficient (1 message = 1 credit + tool costs):

"Check my calendar for today, then send John an email with the schedule,
and find the Q4 PDF to attach"

2. Use the Right Model

  • Use GPT 5.1 for simple tasks (included in Free plan)
  • Save advanced models for complex reasoning tasks

3. Enable Web Search Only When Needed

Web search costs additional credits per URL fetched. Toggle it off for tasks that don't need current information.

4. Monitor Usage Regularly

Check your usage weekly to understand your patterns and avoid running out unexpectedly.

Upgrading for More Credits

If you regularly run out of credits, consider upgrading:

UpgradeCredits IncreaseAdditional Benefits
Free → Pro+700/monthAll models, 1M knowledge words, 10 workflows
Pro → Max+2,000/month5M knowledge words, 50 workflows, 24/7 support
